A Nice Morning in Sennen Cove
Those of you who sleep-in in a morning are missing some spectacular sun rises. The spell of good weather in July gave rise to some really special skies and light conditions in Sennen Cove.

The unfolding of the dawn on just one day alone could have filled a thousand canvases and probably will, so if you prefer your beds in the morning pop along to your nearest art shop and grab a dawn on canvas!

Basking Shark at Porthcurno
This Basking Shark was spotted off Porthcurno, near Sennen Cove Penzance. The sharks, normally between 20ft and 28ft long are harmless to humans…if left alone!

Basking sharks are filter feeders that sieve small animals from the water. The shark can process over 1500 gallons (6000 litres) of water each hour.

Basking sharks travel alone, in pairs, or in schools (groups) of up to 100 members and live in coastal temperate waters.

Basking sharks are not aggressive and are generally harmless to people. The number of basking sharks is unknown, but it may be decreasing since the basking shark is hunted for its meat, fins and oil.

Dolphin's seen in the bay!
The Dolphins have returned to Sennen Cove bay after several months away. From the evening of 18th April 2006 Dolphins could be seen on the incoming tide for several evenings in a row.

A school of 10 to 15 Dolphins were seen jumping right out of the water and fishing in the surf, within metres of surfers off Gwenver beach.

Bull Shark Sighting
The Shark Trust is surprised at the recent reporting of a supposed sighting of a bull shark by two surfers in Sennen Cove, Cornwall

Despite the best efforts of global warming it would take a huge expansion in the range of the bull shark to see one in UK waters.
