Sennen

If you are in to sports, Sennen has a great deal to offer from surfing and body boarding, golf, rock climbing, kiting, kite surfing, hang gliding and paragliding, fishing, jogging, biking and more.

Whitesands bay and Gwenver beach are amongst the top surfing sites in the UK, with local surf schools and hire shops you can just have a go or bring your own stuff and surf to your hearts content!

Golf is available at Cape Cornwall, Praa Sands, St Ives and Mullion.

There are many local cliffs and crags to climb, the nearest within 100 metres from the cottage. Local contact is Compass West, Treeve Cottage, Sennen.

Surfing off Whitesands beach Sennen Cove

If you jog or run, then there are many different places to run. If you wait for low tide you can run along the beach to Gwenver and back, about 3 miles or over to Land’s End and round through Sennen Village, again about 3 miles. If you are more experienced then take off along the coastal path and as far as you like. The local Triathlete does reps of the Cove road - no mean feat.

There is a range of fishing including sea, course and carp in the vicinity. Try off the breakwater for Pollock, mackerel and pouting or take a fishing trip from Penzance. If you prefer fresh water fishing there is a pond at the top of the Cove Road with Roach, Perch and Carp to 32lbs! Other carp fishing is available at a farm outside St Buryan towards the B3319 road.
