| You can visit a number of beaches within walking distance
from The Bosun's Locker holiday cottage, with others just a short
drive away. |
| Whitesands Bay - is in Sennen Cove and is a mile
long curved beach with soft clean and deep sand - ideal for making
sand castles! In summer the area around the amenities can be busy
but the bay is large enough to find your own quiet corner. Rocks at
both ends provide the usual rock pools and marine life. Surfing and
body boarding are popular pastimes and the beach is protected by life
guards. Whitesands is 250 metres from The Bosun's Locker holiday cottage. |
 |
| Gwenver beach - is accessible from Whitesands bay
at low tide or from various lanes off the A30. Gwenver is about a
third of the size of Whitesands, has excellent surf and on quieter
days you can be the only one on it! |
 |
| Harbour beach - next to the Life Boat station is
Sennen Cove harbour. This is where the small fishing fleet operate.
The beach is small but clean and suitable for a quick nap after dinner
or if you don’t fancy walking the 250 metres to Whitesands bay. |
 |
| Najizal cove - about 3 miles away along the South
West coastal path route, beyond Land’s End, you will find a
delightful and usually deserted cove and beach. It is sandy and features
rocks, a rocky arch and caves and unusually a natural fresh water
steam. The coastal path is accessable directly from The Bosun's Locker
cottage. |
 |
| Other beaches in the Sennen Cove area include Porthcurno, naturist
Pedevourder/Treen, Mousehole, Marazion and Praa sands. |
